June 27 is the B-Day of an ex-Spartak Moscow and Soviet Union National forward Anatoly Ilyin. Anatoly is Honored Master of Sports, A product of the “Trudovye Rezervy” youth system.

Ilyin played for Spartak in 1949—1962 with 254 caps and 88 scores. USSR Champion (5 times) and Cup Winner (2). Coached Spartak Reserves in 1963—1996.

Started career as a youth in 1943 in the Gorky Park, Moscow teams, then Pishchevik, Trudovye Rezervy as central forward. Won USSR Youth Cup in 1948.

Nikolai Starostin, Spartak Moscow founder wrote: “He was at the top of our triangle with Netto and Salnikov at the sides. This helped him a lot as he received comfortable passes but made him more responsible as he had to finish excellent balls”.
