Ilya has started playing for FC Spartak Moscow in 1993 and finished in 1999, appearing in 204 matches with 54 goals. He has won 6 Russian Championship and 2 Russian Cup titles.

Spartak take a break

Spartak went on holiday till 25 June as the Russian Premier League matches are off for the summer pause.

After the break the players and coacing staff meet at the Spartak ground in Tarasovka and 27 June fly to Austrian training staying in Neustift until the 5th of July. There the team is going to play 2 matches: against Czech “Mlada Boleslav” and Israeli “Maccabi” (Haifa) on 2 and 3 of July consequently.

Fathi: We’ll talk about Carioca at the next training

Malik Fathi cleared out the question of why Spartak scored so poorly against Khimki and commented on Carioca’s sudden escape to Brazil.

— We knew it’d be hard for us this time. It was essential for us to win though the quality of play left much to be desired. Well, we need to better our play. What’s important is we realized the tactics for the match.

— Did Alex’s injury make it hard to realize the tactics?

— Surely it did. Alex is a key player for the team. He’s no doubt a very skillful player. But we could score without him.

Fathi brings Spartak Moscow victory over Khimki

In Round 12 of the Russian Premier League Spartak had a tight home win against Khimki 1:0.

The Moscovites had plenty of good chances to score. The decisive goal was scored by a German Spartak midfielder Malik Fathi. Alas, but Alex got an injury in the first half and had to be replaced for Pavlenko. Due to this victory Spartak rose to the 3rd place.

Kowalewski: I won’t be surprised if the team rejects Carioca

The former Spartak Moscow goalie Wojciech Kowalewski admitted the Brazilian’s action caught him off guard. Earlier Carioca left the club for his homeland on his own.

“I can’t figure out one could behave like that with Spartak. Don’t know what would be when he comes back; what he would do to regain partnership with his teammates.”

“I won’t be surprised if the team rejects him. But his future is in the club officials’ hands, not in the teammates””.

AS informs Spartak Moscow are ready to pay €1 million for 33-year-old Ivan De La Peña López transfer. The Spanish club say they will sell his transfer if he gives his personal agreement to move to Russia. At the same time Español expect to raise the transfer up to €3 mln.
